St. Francis plans new church

Downtown church will remain open

St. Francis of Assisi, Bend’s Catholic parish serving some 1,600 families, will break ground on a new church this year that will ease crowding at the downtown St. Francis church and end the years-long practice of holding weekly Mass in the parish’s school gym.
