Sunriver woman makes it her mission to rescue dogs abandoned in Mexico

She’s saved about 250 dogs in seven years

SUNRIVER — It started with Chica, the Mexican dog.

Barbara “Rahima” Halajian found her about seven years ago on a beach in Mulege in Baja California, Mexico. The Sun-river area woman pitied the poor terrier mix, cleaned the canine up and took her home.
