U.S. lawmakers seek to extend Internet tax ban

Central Oregonians might pay more on their Internet bills starting Nov. 1, if efforts in Congress to extend a federal moratorium limiting taxes on those services are not successful.

At issue is the expiration of a law, created in 1998, that says state and local governments cannot tax Internet....
