Brush fire turns out to be illegal burn

A report of smoke and a possible brush fire Saturday afternoon, near a home on Wichita Way in northeast Bend, turned out to be an illegal backyard burn, according to a firefighter with the Bend Fire Department.

Because of the risk of wildfire, outdoor burning is currently prohibited within Bend....
