Bend’s birch trees are dying.
First, yellow, sparse, stunted foliage appears in the upper branches. Then, twigs start to die, followed by branches. Soon, the crown of the tree is defoliated.
Within a few years, a white-barked ghost, devoid of leaves and life, could be all that is left....
