Veteran assistant Bob Welch takes over Bend High girls soccer

The vacant head girls soccer coaching position at Bend High School will be filled by a member of the Lava Bears' family.

Bob Welch, a longtime assistant coach in the Bend High program, has been named the head coach for the reigning Class 5A state-champion Lava Bears for the 2007 season.
