Hot-air balloon enthusiasts preparing for this weekend's Balloons Over Bend take a test flight Friday from R.E. Jewell Elementary School, where they'll launch 6:30 a.m. today and Sunday, filling the sky with about two dozen balloons.

At 5 tonight, the balloons will be on display at J Bar J Ranch....
