If I had to pick just one pattern to use for a day, or a month or a year, I'd give some serious consideration to this one. Some of my most memorable fish have fallen for the maroon or wine-colored Kaufmann Mini Leech.
Fish it with a floating line, or better yet, a slow-sinking intermediate....
