Vearl Vernon Varney, of Sandy, died Wednesday. He was 87.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Deschutes Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Varney was born Sept. 1, 1919, in Bend to Clarence and Bertha (McDonald) Varney. He married Lois Anderson on Nov. 20, 1940, in Yuma, Ariz.
