Humane Society in Bend at capacity after pets stream in during weekend

Dozens of animals escaped from their owners over the Memorial Day weekend, winding up in shelters now packed with pets.

Some were cats, but most were dogs like pit bulls, huskies and rottweilers that have filled some of the Humane Societies in Central Oregon. Already, the Bend shelter is talking....
