Timber sales get a boost in the Northwest

With $24 million more in funds, regional forests will ramp up plans

To protect habitat in the threatened northern spotted owl's home range, the Northwest Forest Plan sets guidelines for the U.S. Forest Service on how to manage old-growth forests, restore watersheds and keep the forest healthy.
