I am more appalled by letter writer Tracy Hamaker's arrogant assertion that the time honored theory of evolution is a "pagan religion" than by Mark Helphinstine's teaching of creationism.

I hope that Ms. Hamaker is not a teacher, for after 17 years of formal education (her assertion),....
