The east side of the Deschutes National Forest has a character all its own.

It's the desert rat in a Jeep to the west side's nordic buff in a Subaru (with racks).

You can tell just by the names. Fuzztail Butte, Bessie Butte, Coyote Butte and Teepee Draw are all in the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger....
