Rising rates sting car renters

Officials say hikes unavoidable as fleet costs increase

REDMOND - Joy Jones can't believe how expensive renting a car has become.

Jones, a retail sales regional manager based in Portland, was at Redmond Airport on Friday renting a car for her visit to Central Oregon. She travels roughly once a week and rents cars on most trips, she said.
