Local students inspired to help environment

Someday soon, Pilot Butte Middle School sixth-grader Kristen Herr hopes to smell fried potatoes when she spots a bus from Bend-La Pine Schools. That scent would indicate that the buses made the switch from fossil fuels to the more earth-friendly biodiesel.
