When you want a mayfly that can be tied fast with an economy of materials, here's the pattern. The Poor Man Mayfly was originated by Stan Yamamura in the 1960s.
It rides light on the surface and has the tail to keep it righted while the hook point hangs below the surface film. Fish it on a dead....
