Researcher coming to Prineville to track non-native beetle

The emerald ash borer, a native of China, was first spotted in Detroit in the summer of 2002. In less than five years, the metallic green beetle has spread to Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Maryland, its larvae burrowing into bark and killing more than 20 million ash trees.
