Despite early thaw, clearing on schedule

It's a mixed bag in the Central Oregon Cascades: Some rain, some recent snow up high and a warming trend later this week.

According to Deschutes National Forest trails specialist Chris Sabo, the region is about four weeks ahead of the average spring thaw. Even so, crews won't begin working on....
