SALEM - Wearing helmets would not have saved the lives of two Redmond residents who died Saturday after the all-terrain vehicle they were driving fell about 15 feet onto sharp lava rock in a canal east of Redmond, said Sgt. Gary Cima with the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office.
