Tired Bend-La Pine bus fleet drives up pricey repair bills

Budget cuts leave district with a 'maintenance headache'

At Cascade Middle School earlier this school year, two out of three buses stalled in the parking lot as they waited to pick students up from school. Since only the middle one, blocked in, was running, the district sent three more buses to replace them.
