As a nonwounded World War II vet, I must rise to the defense of our much maligned VA medical services. All is not bad everywhere.

The Bend VA clinic is immaculate, comfortable and nicely equipped. The staff are almost always pleasant, caring and upbeat. Appointments are kept on time.
