La Pine fire levy may fail again

Voter turnout not high enough to pass proposal

A proposal to add nine new paramedic firefighters to the La Pine Rural Fire Protection District appeared to be failing Tuesday night because not enough people turned out to vote, Des-chutes County Clerk Nancy Blankenship said late Tuesday.
