Deadline looms for La Pine fire vote

LA PINE - When Lt. Mark Pautz got the call last month that a La Pine resident was dying from a heart attack, he had nobody to help him.

The other paramedic firefighters were out responding to an open burn and a person suffering a stroke. He called for backup.

Nobody came.
