Two youth members of the local High Desert Fencing Club recently took a stab at defeating some of the best fencers in their age group nationwide.

Gary Aldrich placed 112th among 238 competitors and Travis Kupetz was 148th in the men's under-20 epee in the 2007 Junior Olympics for fencing, staged....
