Fill up road deficit with a local gas tax

One of the best ways to pay for road maintenance is with a gas tax. That way, people who use roads help pay for the benefit every time they fill up. It even gives people a nudge toward conservation.

There's an Oregon gas tax of 24 cents a gallon. There's also a federal gas tax of about 18 cents....
