The park district fought the geese and the geese won ... but now it has a new plan

Along with keeping dogs on leash, the Bend Metro Park and Recreation District has another oft-repeated - and just as often broken - admonition.

Don't feed the waterfowl.

But if the right permit is granted, by late February federal agents will begin hand-feeding the Canada geese that congregate....
