600,000 Warm Springs hatchery fish are killed

Accident may affect Lower Deschutes fishing in 2010

More than half a million salmon fry died at the Warm Springs National Fish Hatchery this week when workers accidentally turned off the water supply.

About half the dead spring chinook salmon could be replaced by extra fry from the nearby Round Butte Hatchery.
