Burned trees to help trout

Logs placed in section of Deschutes to provide better fish habitat and angling

Trees that burned in a 2005 fire in La Pine State Park are serving a new purpose for area wildlife.

Deschutes River brown and redband trout will benefit from scores of the trees, which were moved into a section of the Upper Deschutes not far from where they burned.
