The man behind La Pine cityhood

LA PINE - When Laurie Cox told her husband, Bob, about five years ago that he could not buy a guitar, he built one.

Cox had never made an instrument before, but the 39-year-old La Pine Chamber of Commerce president crafted the guitar from maple and oak. He also made a steel boat once.
