Panthers' upset bid comes up short

EUGENE - Redmond was ready to pull off a mild, early-season upset. Then the gas tank reached empty.

Tenth-ranked South Eugene went on a 20-3 run to close out the game, turning a 37-36 deficit into a 56-40 nonleague boys basketball victory over the Panthers on Saturday afternoon.
