Daniel E. Paxson, of Bend, died Monday of cancer. He was 78.

Private services will be held.

Mr. Paxson was born Nov. 11, 1928, in Bakersfield, Calif., to Earl and Louella (Beck) Paxson. He married Arlene Medhaug on May 7, 1951.
