The eight-day Jewish holiday of Hanukkah begins at sundown Friday.
The holiday commemorates the rededication of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem in 165 B.C. and is seen as a time when Jews rededicate themselves to their faith. It lasts until sundown Saturday, Dec. 23.
