Red Cross appeals for blood donors

Ron Parsons had never donated blood, but was convinced to do so after blood transfusions saved his wife's life in October.

So on Tuesday, Parsons, 45, rolled up his sleeve and donated blood for the first time, with his wife, Janine Parsons, by his side.
