Lava Bears challenge No. 1 team, but fall short

West Albany was unbeaten and ranked No. 1 in the state. Bend High wasn't about to be intimidated.

And that set the stage for a Class 5A state quarterfinal football battle Saturday afternoon that came down to the final moments.
