Renewable-fuel demand slows with gas-price decline

Larry Kimmel saw firsthand how the high fuel prices this summer drove the biodiesel business in Central Oregon.

Kimmel, the vice president of Bend Oil Co., saw his company's daily biodiesel sales jump from roughly 300 to 400 gallons a day to 1,500 to 2,000 gallons daily in July.
