Turkeys may be in short supply

Birds will be smaller, cost more after hot, dry season

Central Oregonians hoping to gobble up the biggest birds this holiday season may want to think again. Low turkey inventories and high summer temperatures throughout the country have made turkeys skinnier, of lower quality and harder to find, retailers and meat distributors say.
