English is second language for more Bend-La Pine students

For Melinda Bartolome, newly arrived from the Philippines, high school in Bend has meant attending classes with students who do not look like her or talk like her.

Bartolome, 19, is a freshman at Mountain View High School who moved to Bend from the Philippines three months ago.
