Burning to regrow

Central Oregon growers must burn fields every summer to keep them productive, but they try to limit its smoke impacts.

MADRAS - Along with carrot and vegetable seed, alfalfa and wheat, Phil Fine harvests about 300 acres of Kentucky bluegrass seed on his Madras farm. His grandfather was one of the first people to grow Kentucky bluegrass in Central Oregon.
