Nordstrom Inc. said Thursday its second-quarter profits surged 20 percent on strong sales. For the quarter ended July 29, the upscale clothing retailer earned $178.8 million, or 67 cents per share, compared with earnings of $148.9 million, or 53 cents per share, in the same period a year....
