Area fires hold steady, nearing containment

The Black Crater Fire, burning southwest of Sisters, remained at 9,400 acres as of 8 p.m. Friday and was at 80 percent containment, according to a fire spokeswoman.

Fire managers said in a news release that they expect the fire to be fully contained by 6 p.m. Sunday. More than 900 firefighters....
