Remembering 'Willie'

It's been a year since Bend Elks infielder Michael Wilhite drowned, but the popular baseball player has not been forgotten

Michael Wilhite would have celebrated his 22nd birthday today.

He would have, that is, had the former Bend Elks baseball player not lost his life in a drowning accident while floating with teammates on the Deschutes River in Bend last summer.

Friday was the anniversary of Wilhite's death.
