Bend requires businesses to have permits before placing temporary signs

Two months ago, Central Oregon Acupuncture owner Jennifer Cochrane put an A-frame sign outside her shop's door on Bond Street in downtown Bend.

She wanted to call attention to her small business, but she didn't know temporary signs require a city sign permit. Nor did she know that posting a sign....
