SALEM - Oregon's crackdown on people who buy cigarettes tax-free over the Internet is paying dividends.

At a cost of $88,000, the Department of Revenue in late 2005 sent tax bills to 7,500 people who bought cigarettes online without paying Oregon's levy of $1.18 a pack. Buying cigarettes online....
