Bend airport to build runway

Responding to surging corporate jet traffic, Bend Municipal Airport is about to spend $6 million to build a new runway.

The project will replace the 5,005-foot runway with a new 5,200-foot strip capable of handling up to 30,000 pounds, or more than twice the current load limit.
