Salmon fly hatch a little late in '06

After snowy winter, popular season on Lower Deschutes should arrive soon

A hefty snowpack has delayed the arrival of one of Central Oregon anglers' favorite flies.

The renowned salmon fly hatch on the Lower Deschutes could be about a week to 10 days late, according to John Smeraglio, owner and operator of the Deschutes Canyon Fly Shop in Maupin.
