Bend snowfall nears April record

Areas of Bend were blanketed in up to a foot of snow Monday

Sunday night's snowfall in Bend almost made the record books as the city's heaviest snowfall in the month of April, but not quite.

That record still goes to the storm of April 17, 1967, when the city was blanketed by 9.6 inches, said George Perry, a weather forecaster for the National Weather....
