Pact with defense contractor expected to bring jobs to Bend

Bend-based Advanced Power Technology's name may disappear from public view this month, but the semiconductor maker's presence in Central Oregon could double within 10 years - thanks to a potentially lucrative deal with a national defense contractor, officials said Wednesday.
