Bend mayor undergoes heart bypass operation

Bend Mayor Bill Friedman will be taking a break from leading the Bend City Council as he recovers from quadruple coronary bypass surgery.

Late last week, Friedman, 69, had the scheduled heart surgery. On Wednesday, he returned home from the hospital, Friedman's wife, Shoshana, said.
