The problem with 16-year-old Marta Bryan's first frog-tracking device was that it didn't work.
Her invention, which uses infrared light to count the amphibians, worked perfectly in the lab, she said. But once placed in the pond where frogs congregated, silt covered a mirror directing the beam.....
