In less than two weeks, people who use Bend's Newport Avenue Bridge will begin taking alternate routes to cross the Des-chutes River.

Newport Avenue traffic will close between Drake Road and Brooks Street on April 10 while the 70-year-old bridge is destroyed. A new one will be built and is....
